STI Gets 100% Passing Rate in Huawei Learn ON Program

Top-performing 4th year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and 5th year Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE) students copped a 100% passing rate in Huawei’s first leg of the Learn ON program in June.

The students were chosen to railroad STI's integration of Huawei's learning content and in-demand ICT technologies for this coming school year 2020-2021.

According to Huawei, "To ensure that teaching and learning continue during this global lockdown, Huawei has launched the Learn ON program, which has benefited thousands of students in multiple countries and allowed them to continue their learning activities at home."

The Learn ON program is an online course that tackles trends, virtualization, and its features, and network and storage basics for cloud computing – which allows users to access IT services such as networks, storage, and applications over the internet. This will then eliminate the need to purchase and maintain physical data centers and servers.

All of these are made possible by giving the participants access to Huawei's online learning modules, including videos, mini-quizzes, and mock exams.

Passers of the certification exam will be recognized globally as Huawei Certified Associates (HCIA). An HCIA of Cloud Computing can plan, design, develop, and manage cloud applications. Top performing students will also be given free certification and exam vouchers. 

STI's Academic Research Group helped the students rigorously prepare for the certification exam while utilizing its very own eLearning Management System (eLMS).

Beronika Peña, Research Head of STI’s Academic Research Group for IT and Engineering, shares that, "An industry certification validates the skills and readiness of an individual to join the workforce. Hence, STI will continue integrating in-demand ICT technologies into its courseware materials to better prepare the students for future certifications."

To date, STI has the most number of participants with 39 students among the six schools who participated in the Learn ON program that will end in December 2020.
