STIers undergo extensive OJT in the U.S.

Once again, STI strengthens its resolve to provide world-class education to the Filipino youth as HRM students from STI College – Dasmariñas flew to the U.S. on May 4 to undergo a rigid on-the-job training at the renowned Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island, Michigan.

Andrea F. Garcia, Marinel C. Olpot, and Rhine L. Batiancila will be working closely with topnotch industry experts, for six straight months, at the world's largest summer hotel, also known as a favorite vacation spot of U.S. presidents as well as the rich and famous.

In cooperation with POEC Consultancy Incorporated and STI College – Dasmariñas' International On-the-Job Training Program, these talented students were chosen from a group of 20 deserving candidates all vying for a chance to be trained comprehensively abroad. The list was narrowed down to five finalists until Andrea, Marinel and Rhine soon made the final cut. All three are incoming third year students but, despite their young age, they have been regarded as the best in their class.

The ladies are commended as leaders in their own right. Marinel, tagged as the little sister of the group, has garnered the highest score during the screening examinations. Andrea, who may be smaller than most of her peers, excels in practical exams and can even outperform the boys in her class. Rhine, on the other hand, is the eldest of the three and has the makings of a great manager with her exceptional skills in handling manpower.

Staying true to its promise of giving its students globally competitive skills and quality education at par with the industry's standards, STI aims to send more and more students for a comprehensive world-class training over the next years. Andrea, Marinel, and Rhine may be the pioneering batch to head to the west, but they are certainly just among the many STIers who will soon be equipped with all the essentials needed to face and triumph over real-life challenges and possibly become the most in-demand professionals – here and abroad.
