

STI 2010 Most Outstanding Thesis Awardees Named
A new breed of winners was proclaimed as the final screening for the Most Outstanding Thesis Award (MOTA) was held last April 16 at STI College – Global City.
MOTA is an annual competition that identifies the best of thesis projects from a batch of graduating STI students. One award is given for BSCS/BSIT and BSCOE programs. Only thesis groups who have been bestowed Best Thesis Awards by the school may be nominated by the College Dean for the MOTA.
Seven groups from six STI schools vied for the MOTA. These include STI College – Makati, STI College – San Fernando, STI College – Baguio, STI College – Cotabato, STI College – Ormoc, and STI College – Meycauayan with two nominated groups who competed in separate divisions.
Judges had a hard time choosing the best thesis this year, as the finalists have substantial and well-thought out thesis to boast. Guest judges who consisted the panel were Orlando Malaca (MIS Manager, Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office), Alexander Ybasco (Academic Program Director, School of Engineering, Asia Pacific College), Haydee Farrol (Education Supervisor, IT and Engineering, Commission on Higher Education), Romualdo Velo, Jr. (Project Manager, AEON Credit Technology Systems Philippines, Inc.), Stanley Coloma (VP for Multimedia Operations, Cycore Technology Solutions Co. Inc.), and Oliver Malabanan (Chair, Information Technology Department, De La Salle University).

At the end of a very tough screening process, the best among the best finally emerged with STI College – Cotabato and STI College – Meycauayan bagging the awards for the Most Outstanding Thesis in BSIT and BSCoE programs respectively.
