But when at a fork in the road, it can feel overwhelming to choose which path to take in Senior High or College. Fret not, because you’re not alone in this journey.

Establishing a clear plan can make a massive difference, and that’s where S, T, and I come in. A three-step recipe for success, this guide is meant to aid you navigate the twists and turns, not just in school, but in life in general.

1. SURVEY your Career Options

By thoroughly evaluating your options, you can make informed decisions that lead to a rewarding and fulfilling career journey

Deciding on which career to take is a lot easier said than done. With a handful of options available, along with personal interests, skills, and aspirations to consider, it's natural to feel stressed. However, the first step in finding out what you really want is this – research.

According to an article from LinkedIn News, job satisfaction worldwide rose to 62% last year, the highest in the last four decades. It may be a result of proper work-life balance, a safe work environment, and job security; but most importantly, from the fulfillment of pursuing a career that aligns with one's educational background and passions.

Researching the in-demand jobs in different industries, the trends, future-proof careers, or high-paying jobs can make your options thinner, give you strategic decisions, and ease your stress. Taking notes can help this step become more organized.

2. TEST Yourself

This step allows you to identify areas of strength and areas that may need improvement

It is highly important to instill among yourselves that choosing a career should be based on one's personality, not on what your parents or siblings tell you, or because that's what your friends chose. It requires careful consideration, time, and assessment.

Assessing your strengths, weaknesses, interests, and aspirations can give you a better and more focused outlook on the choices you have surveyed in Step 1. Seeking advice from experts or professionals and taking personality quizzes might also do the trick.

In the end, the main deciding factor in such decisions, after all, is what your heart truly tells you.

Think about more than just the practical parts of each career. Consider what will make you happy in the long run. It's not just about picking the job with the most money or status. Choose something that really connects with what matters to you, your interests, and your goals.

3. INITIATE an Action

This step marks the beginning of progress and momentum towards success

When you’ve already researched your career choices, dove into the details, and assessed how well-suited you are in each path, it all boils down to the final and most important step: Deciding.
