STIer proves education is for everyone
Although born with the inability to hear and speak, Angelique Vizoro persevered to get a degree. And last November 12, together with 387 STI students, she reaped the fruit of her hard work and determination when she received her diploma in BS Information Technology from STI College – Fairview, proving that no matter what your condition is you are still entitled to a good education.
In 2006, through the intervention of ABS- CBN's TV program At Home Ka Dito, STI awarded Angelique with the Gift of Knowledge which she considered her ticket towards the realization of her dream to find a job abroad and provide for her family.

Despite her physical condition, Angelique still managed to have a positive outlook in life. Together with her father, who is a pastor, Angelique serves the deaf community through counseling and teaching sign language to members of families with a deaf child to help them communicate better with one another.
A consistent honor student in elementary and a SPED spelling bee champion in high school, it was really not a surprise that Angelique was able to finish her studies. When asked about how she was able to navigate her way in school, she said that her mother served as her interpreter. And for this she was truly grateful.
"I am so thankful to God for showering me with so many blessings, for providing me with a loving family, for giving me a chance to have a good education, and for the support of the people in my school," Angelique said.
Angelique is looking forward to getting a job real soon and in inspiring more people to believe that anything is possible with hard work and determination. And when asked for a message for all the students out there, Angelique has this to say, "Study hard, share your knowledge to others, do not entertain negative thoughts, and always believe that you can do it because education is for everyone."
