

STI Proclaims 2011's Most Outstanding Thesis Awardees
The best of the best were recognized as STI proclaims this year's recipients of the Most Outstanding Thesis Award (MOTA) held at the STI Academic Center in Global City, Taguig last April 25, 2011.
The STI MOTA is a program-based national award given to a group of graduating students with an exceptional innovative thesis project. Nominations come from the outstanding thesis projects in the entire STI network.

Dranreb Delos Reyes, Peter Sammy Paulate, Armie Payoyo, and Danmielle Eavans Rivero, BS Computer Science (BSCS) students of STI College – Meycauayan engaged and impressed the panelists with their thesis titled Sciventure: Educational Game for Biology Students of Sitero Francisco Memorial National High School. Under the supervision of their adviser Michael Jeffrey Dojello, their group has created a three- dimensional game designed with multicolored graphics that is intended to capture the attention of the player and make learning in Biology more fun, interactive, and exciting.

BS Computer Engineering (BSCoE) students from STI College – Balagtas Genesis C. Delfin, Carolene M. Perdon and Justine Marie G. Real, with their adviser Santiago Liwanag, focused on creating a mechanism that would aid in saving the environment Called the Water Waste Prevention using Water Flow Sensor project, this mechanism is to be installed in a water outlet which will automatically switch- off the water supply once the set time is reached.
All MOTA entries went through a meticulous process and were judged by accomplished professionals namely: Stanley Coloma, Cycore VP for Multimedia Operations; Romualdo Velo, Deutsche Bank's Project Manager; and Rejan Tadeo, Chairperson for the Computer Science Department of Adamson University. This roster also includes Dean Noel Linsangan of Mapua Institute of Technology, Commission on Higher Education's (CHED) Education Supervisor Haydee Farrol, and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) MIS Department Manager Orlando Malaca.
