

STI Completes Ortigas-Cainta Academic Center, Full Operations Ongoing

STI Education Services Group, Inc. (STI) has completed the construction of the STI Academic Center campus in Ortigas-Cainta, Rizal, marking the start of the school's full operations in time for the influx of students for school year 2013-2014.

The inauguration held on September 25, 2013, was graced by distinguished guests from the government and the academe sectors. Mr. Monico Jacob, STI Education Services Group President & CEO, gave welcome remarks to everyone who was present at the occasion. Hon. Armin Luistro, Secretary of the Department of Education, and Atty. Julito Vitriolo, Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education, gave messages of inspiration and salute to STI's newest addition to its network of colleges. Hon. Rebecca Alcantara-Ynares, Governor of Rizal Province, also gave her acknowledgement to the new center for academic excellence in her province.
The campus sits on a sprawling four-hectare property that features two buildings: a three-storey edifice which houses the Head Office of STI and the seven-storey school. The new campus, which promises to house one of the most modern education facilities in the country, can accommodate 7,800 students.
It has LED monitors installed in every classroom, hot and cold kitchen laboratories, fully-equipped computer laboratories and science laboratories, a library containing a wide array of research materials and internet connection, stylish students’ lounge, and free Wi-Fi access.
The new campus is strategically located to cater to students residing in the eastern side of Metro Manila. It is about three to five minutes away from Robinsons Place Cainta and around 100 meters away from the Cainta Main Junction.
STI Academic Center Ortigas-Cainta has the following courses: Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. There are also two-year courses on Tourism and Events Management, Computer and Consumer Electronics, Information Technology, and Hospitality and Restaurant Services.
Also expected to be completed this year is the construction of the 11-storey STI Academic Center-Caloocan. The campus, which sits on a one and a half hectare property located on Samson Road, Caloocan city will be completed in October and accommodate about 10,000 students. It will also have state-of-the-art facilities.
Meanwhile, preparations for the construction of school campuses in Cubao, Las Piñas, Calamba and Lucena are in full swing. These campuses are expected to be ready for school year 2014-2015.
"Our expansion strategy reflects our commitment to education and the future of our youth. We aim to continually improve our facilities and upgrade the quality of education we deliver". Mr. Monico V. Jacob, President of STI, said in an interview.
"Since 2009, STI has upgraded its campuses to full-pledged Academic Centers in Global City, Naga, Fairview, Alabang, and Novaliches. STI is set to continue its aggressive campus expansion programs and develop more academic centers in strategic locations across the country in the coming years," Mr. Jacob added.
