STI College ? Santa Rosa Edges STI College ? Global City, 91-55
The phenomenal tandem of John Batisan and Winstons Balmaceda of STI College – Santa Rosa keyed the spurt giving an impressive 36-point lead over STI College - Global City, proving their team is relentless in defense after a break last year.

The 9-4 surge of Team Global City during the first few minutes of the game thwarted the flow of offense of the Santa Rosa cagers forcing them to call for an early time out.
Leading a frenzied comeback, Team Santa Rosa unleashed a paralyzing 15-5 run. The Global City dribblers struggled with their countless turnovers courtesy of the Santa Rosa Cagers who top-seeded a striking 41-32 on the first half.
Lead player of the Laguna-based cagers, Winston Balmaceda scored a three-pointer that ended the third quarter with a commanding 69 - 40.
The lead was enough for the Santa Rosa team to seal the game in the fourth quarter. Team Santa Rosa's defense was so intact that no one in Team Global City scored in double figures including their leading scorer, Wynald Sultan who was only able to produce 7 points. On the other side of the court, Winston Balmaceda and rookie Aries Santos led Santa Rosa with 17 and 16 points respectively, posting a four win - one loss score card.
