STI gets NCLEX review partner
Systems Technology, Inc. (STI), the country’s largest network of nursing colleges, has forged an agreement with Profiles Asia Pacific (PAP), distributor of the On-Line NCLEX-RN Review Learning Management System.
PAP is an affiliate of Profiles International Inc., a world leader in the development and distribution of assessment instruments. It provides training and support to various employers and distributes assessment tools such as the NCLEX-RN Online Review System, a product of Thompson Corporation.
Under the Memorandum Agreement, STI shall inculcate in its curriculum the NCLEX-RN Online Review System to provide an ideal study tool and test guide for students and registered nurses who would like to work in the US but are required to pass the NCLEX-RN Licensing Exam.
The NCLEX-RN or National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses is made up of a series of computer tests designed to measure the competencies of entry-level registered nurses and ensure the capability of newly licenses individuals to perform safely and effectively.
The NCLEX-RN Online Review System, on the other hand, is a tool developed by Thompson Corp. It is a review course delivered thru the Internet to help the user gain familiarity of the actual NCLEX-RN exam. This review has the database of over 2,000 Nursing knowledge questions.
" This computer-adaptive program will not only adequately prepare STI nursing students when they take their Philippine Nursing Board Examinations but can also help them hurdle US licensure examinations," STI president for Academics Reuel Virtucio said.
The incorporation of the NCLEX-RN Online Review System will first be pilot tested in 3 schools namely the University of Makati, STI-DLS College of Health Professions, Inc. and STI College San Pablo. These schools will weave the content and e-learning approach of the on-line review into its 3rd and 4th year nursing students’ respective course contents.
The incorporation of an online NCLEX-RN Review System in STI’s nursing program is expected to further strengthen the education institution’s thrust for making its Enrollment-to-Employment System (E2E) work for more the benefit of its students.
" STI is very serious about the employability of our students. Skills help you land a job and certification is very important. It is a very large part of the system," Virtucio said.
Virtucio added with the NCLEX-RN Online Review now part of its curriculum, STI hopes to improve the number of nursing students passing the local and foreign licensure exams for nurses.
