New Batch of STI Graduates Bade Farewell

A new batch of STI graduates for the 1st semester of school year 2007-2008 have started another chapter in their lives as they set foot into the real world and left behind their lives as students.

 

A total of 334 students from 13 STI schools participated in the Commencement Exercises last November 13, 2007 at Crossroad 77 in Mother Ignacia St., Quezon City. These STI schools were: STI College – Cubao, STI College – Edsa-Crossing, STI College – Global City, STI College – Fairview, STI College – Las Pinas, STI College – Makati, STI College – Marikina, STI College – Ortigas-Cainta, STI College – Paranaque, STI Pasay, STI College – Recto, STI San Pedro, and STI College – Taft.

 

Celebrating this joyous occasion were the graduates of the following Commission on Higher Education (CHED) programs: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCoE), and Associate in Computer Technology (ACT).

 

Also joining them were the graduates of the following Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) courses: Diploma in Computer and Electronics Technology (DCET), Diploma in Computer Studies (DCS), Diploma in Information Technology (DIT), and Certified Nursing Assistant Program (CNAP).

 

Executives from STI Headquarters likewise graced the event as they showed their utmost support to the newly graduates. Leading them was the President & CEO Monico V. Jacob, EVP & COO Peter K. Fernandez, VP for Academics Mitch M. Andaya, VP for Channel Management Michael M. Del Rosario, VP for Corporate and Information Services John B. Tubongbanua, AVP for School Operations Resty O. Bundoc, and Student Services Manager and STI Alumni Association Chairman Victoria Thelma L. Luz.

 

TESDA Regional Director Mr. Ernesto Beltran also imparted a truly inspiring message to the graduating students. He shared with them some important tips on how to face the realities of life and how education helps shape our future.

 

Mr. Beltran furthermore gently reminded the graduates that there are a lot of opportunities waiting for them but it is up to them how they will make use of their talents and skills. "We are adapting in a highly competitive global economy where human resources play a very vital role not only in shaping our country’s future but other countries as well and wherein a globally competitive workforce is very much in demand."
