DLS-STI survives STI College Recto in the 5th Basketball Showdown Finals
DLS-STI survived a heart-pounding game against the fighting team of STI College Recto in their championship match last March 11, 2005 at the Makati Coliseum.
Mentored by former PBA player and coach Luke Dacula, DLS-STI subdued STI College Recto, 108-99 in overtime.
Rod William Vasallo, who was also named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament stood at the helm of the team's fiery performance with an explosive 26 points and converted on a jump shot to force the game into extension.
Richard Tomelden carried the fight for STI College Recto with a game-high 28 markers. In the Battle for Third Place, STI College Taft won over STI College Santa Rosa, 63-48.
