STI holds Commencement Exercises for October Graduates

STI will send off another batch of graduating students for the first semester of the school year 2006-2007 bidding them goodbye and good luck on their future endeavors.


More than 700 students from 13 STI schools here in Metro Manila will participate in the Commencement Exercises to be held this November 28, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the AFP Theatre at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City. Also joining in the event will be graduating students of STI College San Pedro.


Graduating students from the following STI schools will join in the festivities: STI College Caloocan, STI College Cubao, STI College Global City, STI College Fairview, STI College Las Piñas,  STI College Makati, STI College Marikina, STI College Ortigas-Cainta, STI College Pasay, STI College Parañaque, STI College Quezon Avenue, STI College Recto, STI College San Pedro and STI College Taft


Participants in the upcoming Commencement Exercise would be graduates of various four-year and two-year courses. Among these courses include BS in Computer Science (BSCS), BS in Information Technology (BSIT), BS In Business Administration (BSBA), BS in Office Management (BSOM, BSOA), and BS in Computer Engineering (BSCOE).


Diplomas for the following 2-year courses will likewise be given: Associate in Computer Technology (ACT), Diploma in Computer Studies (DCS), Diploma in Computer and Electronic Technology (DCET), Diploma in e-Commerce Programming (DECP), Diploma in Information Technology (DIT), Diploma in Office Skills and Management (DOSM), Diploma in Multimedia Arts (DMA), Diploma in Applied Computer Science (DACS), and Certificate in Practical Nursing.


This Commencement Exercise will mark the beginning of another journey for these students.  This will also mark the joy and pride that STI has for producing quality and job ready graduates.


This year’s Graduation Rites will be graced by the following people: STI’s AVP for Academic Services John B. Tubongbanua, VP for Channel Management Michael H. Del Rosario, VP for Business Development Reuel K. Virtucio, Student Services Head Vicky L. Luz, EVP and COO Peter K. Fernandez and STI President and CEO Monico V. Jacob.


Addressing the graduates would be Martin Lichauco, Vice-President & Country Manager for Walden International (Phils), a leading global venture capital firm. In August 2002, Mr. Lichauco was assigned to Walden’s head office in San Francisco where he is presently responsible for identifying cross-border investment opportunities between the U.S. and Southeast Asia in the semiconductor, software and electronics and communications sectors.


Mr. Lichauco received his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with Honors from the Arthur D. Little School of Management in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, USA. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, Major in Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University.
