Program Description

 

The two-year Tourism and Events Management program prepares students for a career in the tourism and events management industry. Students will learn applicable skills on tour guiding, travel services, tourism promotions services, events management, front office management, and attractions and theme park operations. The integration of theories learned inside the classroom and the on-the-job training will prepare students to be globally competitive in the tourism, travel, and event management industries.

 

  • Research information relevant to tour itinerary
  • Manage arrangements and accompany visitors in accordance with tour itinerary
  • Operate an automated information system
  • Access and interpret product information
  • Promote tourism products and services
  • Book travel-related reservations
  • Administer billing and settlement plan
  • Issue air, sea, and land tickets and multi-purpose documents
  • Source and provide destination information and advice
  • Provide on-site information and assistance
  • Monitor entry to venue

  • Load and unload a ride
  • Maintain safety in water-based rides
  • Plan and develop event proposal or bid
  • Develop an event concept
  • Develop and update event industry knowledge
